International Women's Day 2025

Claremont Area (CA) Chapter’s Celebration of International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day High Tea

International Women’s Day was held on March 8, 2025 and the Claremont Area (CA) Chapter celebrated by having an International Women’s Day High Tea to celebrate the accomplishments of women who serve globally. The Tea was held at the Olde Magnolia Tea Room in Upland CA. All members and guests were dressed in International Attire. We honored three women who have done exemplary Internal work in alignment with the Mission of The Links, Incorporated. These women were Etta Motten Barnett, Rosalyn Carter, and Oprah Winfrey. We had a guest speaker, Dami Madugu-Onwuka from Liberia. She talked about her struggles as an African woman who came to live in the United States.

There was a presentation of the International Trends and Services Projects that the chapter has been involved with. One such project was the delivery of Maama Kits to Sub Saharan women. The Maama kit is, a clean and safe child delivery care kit.

Another project of the Claremont Area Chapter is our collaboration with the Harbor Area (CA) Chapter to bring aid to Haiti. We donated money to purchase a water well, sent clothing and money for food.

The third project of the Claremont Area Chapter is our support of the Watford Hill Primary and Infant School near Hanover, Jamaica with funds to help establish a garden and build a chicken coop.

Everyone had a great time and felt it was a wonderful way to celebrate International Women’s Day.
